Day 3… I slept in! Colorado had been fun, exhausting and oh so beautiful at this point. I was a little sad I was leaving but I was happy to continue with my adventures. After getting all of my stuff together, I checked out of my wonderful hotel and walked over to Larimer Square in Denver.I went to try to get some cute pics but unfortunately they were setting up for an event and a lot of the shops were boarded up. I got a few pictures without the construction but it wasn’t what I had hoped for! Next time I’m in Denver, I will definitely head back and try again!
Then I was off… but I still hadn’t got my big mountain picture I came to Colorado to capture. So I stopped in Colorado Springs for lunch and began my hunt. I used Google Maps and spotted something that looked amazing, and it was! I headed through a neighborhood then up a winding dirt road to the Sunrise Trailhead. I was definitely glad it wasn’t winter, me being alone in an economy sized car. The views from the mountain were beautiful, serene and so peaceful. There was very little traffic so it was nice to sit and be in nature without any distractions for a while. No regrets!!
Then I was off. It was a long day in the car. I was off to Amarillo and I was sad to say see you later to Colorado (it was not by any means a goodbye). It was dark by the time I made it back to Texas and I knew I had a long day ahead of me when I got up the next morning so I got to the hotel and turned out the lights. I dreamed of all the fun ahead of me the next few days! 🙂
